This Course would benefit

Anyone interested in learning about the essential elements of First Aid.  The course will provide a level of competence in low risk workplaces and can complement staff who are qualified in First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work.

This course is ideal for sports club staff and volunteers, and for coaches it may meet their governing body’s requirements for First Aid.  Please note the course meets ECB requirements for cricket coaches.

Course Summary

The course will give you confidence in dealing with basic first aid incidents and includes assessing the situation in an emergency, dealing with an unconscious casualty, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, wounds, bleeding and shock.

Length/Format

3 hours.  Delivered in one half day.

Pre-requisites

None.  Learners must be at least 14 years of age.

Assessment

There is no formal exam, but the tutor will continually assess learners to ensure the necessary standards have been achieved.

Certification

Certificate issued by Top Edge Training.  It is recommended that the qualification is renewed after no more than three years.
