This Course would benefit
Anyone in a supervisory position who wants to develop their understanding of the principles of health and safety management. Would also benefit anyone in any position with a particular interest in health and safety who wishes to advance their learning. This course is a very good alternative to the Level 3 Risk Assessment. It is not recommended that learners complete both this course and the Level 3 Risk Assessment as some content is duplicated.
Course Summary
This course covers the many interlinking elements associated with health and safety and is an introduction to how they are managed. It also develops the learners’ understanding of the legal framework and risk assessment with reference to a range of specific topics such as manual handling, COSHH, fire and work at height.
Length/Format
Online – approximately 12 hours.
Onsite – delivered over two days, with some additional home study.
Pre-requisites
None Specific. A basic knowledge of Health and Safety is required, and a Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace or equivalent is recommended. Learners must be at least 16 years of age.
Assessment
A multiple-choice exam at the end of the course.
Certification
Certificated by Highfield. It is recommended that the qualification is renewed after three years.
