This Course would benefit

Anyone interested in learning about, or be required to be, qualified in the basic principles of first aid, enabling you to take control of a first aid situation in the workplace, in the absence of a fully trained First Aider.  The Emergency First Aid at Work course may help you meet your legal requirements to provide first Aid in the workplace as well as being a valuable life skill.

Course Summary

Emergency First Aid at Work covers a range of topics within its syllabus, including the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations, managing incidents, priorities of first aid, treatment of unconscious casualties, resuscitation, shock, choking, seizures, bleeding and other common workplace injuries.

Length/Format

6 hours.  Delivered in one day, or two half days.

Pre-requisites

None.  Learners must be at least 14 years of age.

Assessment

Four Practical Assessments and a Multiple-Choice Assessment.  The tutor will also continually assess learners to ensure the necessary standards have been achieved.

Certification

Certificate issued by Qualsafe. The qualification lasts for three years, when the learner must repeat the one day Emergency First Aid at Work course to maintain the qualification.
